Geography
The village is located on the left bank of the Valui River, opposite the mouth of Upper Moses , in the southeastern part of the Belgorod Region, 1.28 km in a straight line to the northeast of the district center, the city of Valuyki .
History
In 1859 - the Valuysky district “the village of the state Rozhdestvenskoe at the mouth of the Mosey river” “on the left side of the large postal route from the city of Valuyek to the city of Voronezh” - there was an Orthodox church.
In 1900 - the Valuysky district of Nikolaevsky volost "the village is Christmas by the river Value" - a church, 2 public buildings, a zemstvo school, a petty and wine trading shops.
Since July 1928, the village of Rozhdestveno in the Valuy district has been the center of the Christmas Village Council , which included the villages: Zhirovka, Luchka , Maslovka, Novo-Cossack and Rozhdestveno proper.
Christmas Village Council of the Valuysky District in 1958: the village of Maslovka and the villages of Kutok-Sibir, Luchka-Zhirovka, Novo-Cossack, Rozhdestveno 1 and Rozhdestveno 2 (center of the village council); in 1972 - the villages of Luchka, Maslovka, Novokazatskoye and Rozhdestveno.
In 1997, Rozhdestveno was the center of the Rozhdestvensky rural district : the villages of Luchka, Maslovka, Novokazatskoye and Rozhdestveno proper.
In 2010, the village of Rozhdestveno - the center of the Christmas rural settlement of the Valuy district [2] .
Population
In 1859, 179 yards and 1820 residents (864 men, 956 women) were enumerated in the village.
In 1900, 337 households, 2112 residents (1096 men, 1016 women).
On January 1, 1932 in Rozhdestvensky - 2884 inhabitants.
According to population censuses in the village of Rozhdestvensky, on January 17, 1979, there were 1,693 residents, on January 12, 1989 - 1,487 (686 men, 801 women), on January 1, 1994 - 654 households and 1,536 residents. In 1997, Rozhdestvenskaya had 656 households, 1,507 inhabitants; in 1999 - 1483 inhabitants, in 2001 - 1516 [2] .
