History and Description
The Landshut building, which later became known as the "Hofraiter Palace", was probably built in the last quarter of the 17th century: researchers called a specialist from Munich [1] as a possible architect (construction master). The first owner of the city palace, who owned the house from 1674 to 1711, was Dr. Johann Hyle, Chancellor of Straubing and member of the council in Munich. Later, the building belonged, among others, to the prelates of the monastery of Rohr, counts of Herwart and Lerchenfeld, as well as to Baron Gughemos of Herrngersdorf and Mirskofen. The name of the house comes from the name of brewer Franz Hofreiter, who became its owner already in the 20th century - in 1919. The Hofraiter Palace is transitional in style between the Renaissance and Baroque . The three-story building with a gable roof has a complex three-zone pediment design, combining both curved and angular shapes. The house with three pairs of windows on each of the two upper floors inside contains a hall with stucco ceilings; the building is an architectural monument .
