The winner of the National Tournament of 1942 and the official contender for the title of champion of Spain (lost the match to the current champion R. Ray Ardid [1] ). Silver medalist of the Spanish Championship 1947

Champion of Seville 1930. Champion of Castile 1936 (1-2 places with V. Almiral ), 1942, 1944, 1951 and 1952.

As part of the Spanish national team, he participated in radio matches with the national team of Argentina (1946 and 1948).

The biggest achievement in the international arena is 2nd place in the tournament in Madrid (1943) behind Grandmaster P.P. Keres , ahead of F. Zemis , A. Brinkman , A. Pomar , A. Medina , H. Sansa Aguado , etc. In 1945, he took 3rd place in a similar tournament. [2]

In 1935, in sessions of simultaneous play, he defeated world champions A. A. Alekhin [3] [4] and H. R. Capablanca [5] [6] [7] . In the same year, together with three consultants, he tied a demonstration game against Alekhine. [8]

Collaborated with the publication " El ajedrez español ". He co-authored with H. Ganso the book The Life of Arturo Pomar ( La vida de Arturito Pomar , editorial Ajedrez Español, ISBN, Madrid, año 1946).
