The main sporting success achieved in the mid-1930s. In 1935 and 1936 Twice he became champion of Castile (in 1936 he shared 1-2 places with H.M. Fuentes ). In 1935 he became the winner of the National Tournament held in Madrid , and received the right to challenge the title of champion of Spain in a match with the current title holder R. Ray Ardid . Since 1950, Almiral was chairman of the Catalan Chess Federation.

He had the title of national chess coach.

In 1951 he received the title of international chess arbiter.
