Career
Mikael Konjungo made his international debut in 1991, performing at the Tokyo World Championships , where he took 32nd place in the discus thrower competition. A year later, at the Olympics in Barcelona, he again did not make it to the finals, showing 57.46 meters in qualification, which allowed him to take 24th place, ahead of eight athletes from other countries.
In 1993, at the African Championship in South African Durban , Konjungo won a gold medal, throwing a disc at 59.92 and ahead of his closest rivals by more than five meters. This "gold" was the first in the history of the African championships for the CARs and remains so as of 2019.
In 1995, Konjungo won the silver medal of the All-African Games, took sixth place at the Universiade in Japan. In 1996, at his second Olympics in his career, he was the standard bearer of the national team, and in competitions he took 34th place with a throw at 55.94.
In 1998 and 2000, he won medals in African championships; in 2000, his sister Maria-Joel won the bronze medal in the 100 meters hurdles. Brother and sister Konjungo remain the only winners of the African championships from the CAR. In 1999, at the World Championships in Seville, he showed the best result at the World Championships - 22nd place with a score of 59.16. At the Olympics in Sydney, he threw the disc at just 57.85 and took 35th place, ahead of ten throwers (of which four could not make a test attempt).
Later he moved to France, changed his sports citizenship and actively played at domestic starts, not only in discus throwing, but also in javelin throwing and shot put.
