Third Age University is an international movement whose goal is to educate and stimulate “aged” people, mainly retirees. The abbreviated name of the movement: U3A (from the English university of third age ).
There is no universally accepted U3A training model. Its original concept in France as a correspondence course for the elderly was significantly changed in the UK, where the government agreed that most people of retirement age can contribute to the economy.
Many English-speaking countries followed the English model, while the countries of continental Europe mainly followed the model created in France.
