He graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Department of the Gorky University (1960).
From 1960 to 2001, he worked at the All-Russian Research Institute of Mineral Raw Materials Synthesis in the city of Alexandrov, Vladimir Region, in positions from junior researcher to deputy general director for the development and use of scientific programs in the field of high technologies. He took part in the work on obtaining synthetic optical radiation-resistant quartz, piezo quartz, synthetic diamonds and other crystalline materials.
Since 2001, the head of the scientific programs and the head of the department of metamaterials and nanocomposites at TSNITI Tekhnomash (Moscow). He took part in the creation of new materials for microelectronics and nanophotonics.
Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1973). Thesis:
