Lunar ( Llinor ; French: Lunaire or Leonor ; c. 509 - c. 560 or 580 ) is a saint of Armorica , Brittany . Memorial Day - July 1 .

Saint Lunar, sometimes referred to as Launeuc or Lormel ^[1] , was neither a bishop nor a rector of the monastery. His veneration extends from the western end of Armorica to the Breton mark or even to Avranshin .

The brother of St. Tudwal , Lunar is sometimes referred to as the son of Beteloc (Beteloc) or Elok (Eloc). This allows us to identify the father of Lunar with Hoel the Great , the husband of St. Pompeii of Dumnonia .

Saint Lunar was educated by Saint Ilta and was close to Saint Dubricius . Around 535-540, leaving Glamorgan , Saint Lunar and his comrades went to Armorica, like his brother Tudval. On the way, he cut a thick fog with his sword, which led to the fact that three people got lost, who were instructed to manage the ships: “one in front, one in the middle, one in the back”. This presence of the sword in the story underlines the princely character of Leonor, both the interim leader and the spiritual leader. The sailors pray to him to avoid the danger caused by the fog.
