Biography

Willy Schmelcher was born on October 25, 1894 in the family of a glass master. In 1911 he graduated from school in Eppingen . Until 1914 he studied at a construction school in Stuttgart . He participated in the First World War . In 1918 he was captured by the British, in which he stayed until 1920. Later he continued his studies as a construction engineer. While studying in the early 1920s, he was a member of the Borussia-Stuttgart land community. In 1925 he received an engineering degree from the University of Stuttgart , and in 1927 passed the first state exam in the specialty of building engineering. In 1932 he worked in the engineering campaign. In 1934 he got married.

In June 1928 he joined the NSDAP (party ticket No. 90 783) and the Assault squads (SA). In 1930 he became a member of the SS (No. 2 648). From 1932 to 1935 he was commander of the 10th standard (regiment) of the SS in Kaiserslautern . From 1935 to 1942 he was the head of the police in Saarbrücken .

World War II

In 1940, he was in military service for a short time. Since January 1941, he served in the police at Metz . From mid-November 1941 to early July 1943 he was the head of the SS and police in Chernihiv [2] . From May to September 1943 he was the head of the SS and police in Zhitomir [2] . In December 1944, he served as the senior leader of the SS and police in Wart, headquartered in Posen . From October 1943 to May 1945 he was the head of the organization "Technical Assistance" in the Main Directorate of Order Police .

After the war

After the war was interned. In January 1949, denazification took place. From 1954 to 1962 he worked in the department of civil defense in the Saarist Ministry of the Interior. He died in 1974 in Saarbrücken [3] .
