History

Deserts are first mentioned in the payment books of Rostislavsky camp for 1595-97 - there is an entry about the “Sosnovsky monastery slobodka”, the village of Sosnovka . The writing books of 1628 and 1629 mention the wooden church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, built in the monastery [1] .

The following estates belonged to the monastery:

  • Sosnovka village
  • Dretal village
  • Karchervathe wasteland
  • wasteland Zaray
  • Kukornnica wasteland
  • the waste of Bolotov

The list of monastic books of 1680 indicates that in the past (presumably, 1679), the monastery survived the fire and was destroyed by fire.

On December 22, 1680, the Sosnovskaya Pustyn was assigned to the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery together with all the grounds by order of Tsar Fedor Alekseevich .

In the second half of the XVIII century the monastery was completely abolished. A new wooden church of the Intercession on the site of the former desert was built in Sosonvka in 1784. The stone temple that now exists in its place was built in 1895 [2] . After closing in the 1930s, the church was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1997, restored and opened to believers. At present, an icon with a particle of the relics of St. Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky) and an icon of blessed Matrona of Moscow with a coffin particle are stored in it, and a source is also arranged in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Life-Giving Source” [3] . An annual festival of sacred music is held at the parish [4] , since 2015 there is a Sunday school [5] .

  • hieromonk (priest clerk) Onisifor (ruled in 1676)
