Biography

In 1992, Antonio began training in the children's team of Seville, 10 years later, began to play for the double. On September 19, 2004, left-back quarterback Antonio Puerta made his debut in the main squad of Sevilla - he was released as a substitute in the match against Levante , which the Andalusians won 3-0.

In November 2004, Puerta first entered the field in the starting lineup of the club and scored a goal against the Noumansia . That match, “Seville” lost with a score of 1: 2.

Since 2006, Puerta began to regularly enter the field in the starting lineup of the team and played 25 games in a season. In April 2006, in extra time, he scored the winning goal against the German Schalke in the semifinals of the UEFA Cup . A month later, he received a medal for winning the UEFA Cup, although he did not participate in the final match against the English Middlesbrough , which Sevilla won with a score of 4: 0.

In the 2006/07 season, Puerta played 46 matches and helped Sevilla win the bronze of the Spanish Championship . In May 2007, the defender played all 120 minutes of the UEFA Cup final match against Espanyol , which Sevilla won by penalty .

In mid-August, before the start of the 2007/08 season, information appeared about the desire of Real Madrid to buy Puerto with Dani Alves from Seville for 37 million and Sicinho [4] .

On August 25, 2007, during a match with Getafe in the first round of the Spanish Championship-2007/08, Antonio became ill with his heart . Antonio himself was able to leave the field, but in the locker room there was another attack, after which he was immediately taken to one of the hospitals in Seville. In the hospital, his condition did not improve, and on August 28 at 14:30 local time, Antonio Puerta died.

Two months after the death of a football player, his girlfriend Mar Roldan gave birth to a son, Aytor Antonio, at the Sagrado Corazon hospital. One of the first young mother congratulated the President of Seville, Jose Maria del Nido. Aytor Antonio won a lifetime subscription to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. In addition, Puerta Jr. inherited the club's 16th number from his father. If he does not become a football player, then this figure in Seville will be forever assigned to Antonio Puerta (however, Denis Cheryshev played at number 16. This is because the Spanish Football Federation has forbidden to assign number 16 to Puerta, as the rules it is necessary that all numbers from 1 to 25 be assigned to existing players, and after the 25th - if desired).

During the award ceremonies of the Spanish national football team with gold medals Euro 2008 , Euro 2012 , as well as the 2010 World Cup, Spaniard defender Sergio Ramos received an award and celebrated his victory with a team in a T-shirt with the image of Puerta and the inscription: “Always with us” [5] .
