RSM 161 ( RSM 161 ) - Russian combine harvester . Designed and created by the Rostselmash group of companies together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in 2015 . It is made in Rostov-on-Don . The RSM 161 platform is the base for the planned series of combine modifications [1] .
The threshing device RSM 161 was awarded the silver medal of the innovation contest held in the framework of the international specialized exhibition of agricultural equipment Agrosalon ( 2014 ). The design decisions used by the creators of the combine are protected by eight patents of the Russian Federation [2] [3] [4] [5] .

History
RSM 161 was created in 2015 by the Rostselmash group of companies together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia . Belongs to the class of heavy combines.
The prototype RSM 161 was released on June 15, 2015. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation D.V. Manturov [6] .
The field tests of the harvester took place in fields with different yields and in regions with different climatic conditions.
In 2015, RSM 161 became the winner of the All-Russian contest “The Best Agricultural Machine of 2015” (nomination - “The Best Novelty of 2015”), initiated by the Department of Scientific and Technological Policy and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia [7] .
RSM 161 is designed to work on a flat surface with a slope of up to 8 degrees in the main grain-growing zone. Designed for the collection of cereals ( cereals and ears ), row crops, legumes and oilseeds. Productivity - up to 45 tons per hour. For a season it can process up to 2000 hectares of fields [8] [9] .
The design of the machine includes 22 patented new inventions [10] [11] , which allows us to state: "RSM 161 is a set of the latest design developments" [12] .
At least ten modifications are planned to be created on the basis of RSM 161: one- and two-drum, rotary and hybrid combines of various capacities [13] .
The main features of the threshing and separating device
- High-speed working bodies (drum and beater-separator) are maximally spaced from each other (the number of places of a hard oncoming blow is reduced).
- The drum and beater separator have the maximum possible diameters (the maximum possible total threshing and separation area is provided) [14] [15] [16] .
