The Norilsk State Industrial Institute is one of the most northern higher educational institutions in the world and in Russia . Located in the city of Norilsk , Krasnoyarsk Territory .

History
It was founded in 1961 as the Norilsk Evening Industrial Institute, the merger of the evening faculty of the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals (1959), the training and consulting center of the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnic Institute (1947) and the Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical College (1944) by order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the RSFSR No. 694 dated 12/30/1961 and by order of the Krasnoyarsk Sovnarkhoz No. 1163 dated 12/13/1961. In 1974, an admission to day care was opened.
In 1987, the institute was transformed into a technical college at the Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Combine named after A. P. Zavenyagin [1] , each graduate of which was guaranteed work at the Norilsk Combine .
In September 1989, graduate school was opened at the institute.
In 1991, the Technical University Plant was transformed into the Norilsk Industrial Institute, after which employment is no longer guaranteed to anyone.
