Fondo ( Cat. Fondo ) - Interchange station of the Barcelona Metro , located on lines 1 and 9N. On line 1 is the final. The station is located in the same area of the city of Santa Coloma de Gramenet .

Line 1
The opening of the line 1 platform took place on February 18, 1992 during the extension of one stage from the Santa Coloma station, and from that moment until now the station is the terminal on the line. [one]
The station has two straight side platforms with a length of 99 meters each.
In the middle of each platform is a transition to line 9N. [one]
Track Development
Despite the fact that the station is terminal on its line, there are no back-up dead ends behind the station. Turnover of trains is made at the cross-border checkpoint exit located in the tunnel towards the Santa Coloma station, and the trains leave towards the Santa Coloma station from both platforms. [2]
Two dead ends located in the opposite tunnel are mainly used for sludge trains. [3]
Line 9N
The opening of the 9N line platform took place on December 13, 2009 as part of the starting section of line 9 from the Can Peshauet station to the Can Zam station, on the same day a transfer to Line 1 station opened. [4]
Design
The station is a two-tier, and consists of two platforms with a length of 101.1 meters each. Trains arrive at the upper tier towards the La Sagrera station, and at the lower tier toward the Can Zam station.
The station complex is located at a depth of 48.73 meters from the surface. [4] A vertical tunnel leads to the platform (pictured left), which has 8 elevators, 2 of which are for low-mobility passengers, and the remaining 6 are for ordinary passengers. [four]
The platforms are separated from the tracks by glass doors of the horizontal elevator type.
Track Development
Behind the station, in the direction of the Esglesia Major station, there is a reverse dead end, for which a branch is located from the lower path. [2]
Perspectives
In the future, from the station of line 1, it is planned to extend the line south to the city of Badalona , to the station "Badalona Pompeu Fabra", with the creation at the last transfer to the station of the same name line 2, and subsequently to the railway station of Badalona . [five]
