The Novgorod Regional House of Folk Art is an institution of folk culture and art.

History
The Regional House of Folk Arts was formed by a decision of the Executive Committee of the Novgorod Regional Council of Workers' Deputies on September 18, 1944.
Since 1992, the institution has been located in four buildings on the territory of the 14th-century monument of history and culture of the Nikolo-Belsky Monastery in the historical part of the city. The temple of St. Nicholas Bely, which is part of the complex, is an object of UNESCO cultural heritage [1] .
The Novgorod Regional House of Folk Arts is the basic cultural institution for the formation of regional cultural policies in the field of cultural and leisure activities, amateur art and visual arts, a center for the study, preservation and development of traditional folk culture, a methodological center for working with cultural and leisure institutions in Novgorod area [2] .
Every year, the House of Folk Arts hosts the International Festival of Folk Art and Crafts Sadko . [3] [4] The festival is held with the assistance and support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the State Russian House of Folk Art named after V.D. Polenova, Ministry of Culture of the Novgorod Region, Novgorod Regional Theater and Concert Agency.
Also, the House of Folk Art is the organizer of the Interregional Festival of Game Culture Games and People [5] .
It has a rich collection of ethnographic samples and analogues of birch bark utensils, dishes and shoes; a collection of woven and woven belts, rugs in different techniques; folk costumes, wedding, holiday girls and women hats late XVIII - early XIX centuries; a collection of toys, game equipment and items of game activity.
He does a great job of studying, preserving and reviving the traditional handicraft and game culture of the Novgorod region and incorporating it into the modern environment on the basis of handicraft workshops for weaving from birch bark, weaving, women's crafts, games and toys.
Carries out the reconstruction of public holidays and ceremonies. It develops and tests them at its base, broadcasts it in the sociocultural sphere of the Novgorod region .
Demonstrates expositions of original artists and masters of decorative and applied art of houses and centers of folk art of municipal regions of the region in a modernly equipped museum and exhibition center.
Organizes and holds regional amateur art festivals for different age categories by genre: choreography, choral, vocal, instrumental, theater, etc.
Since 2018, the House of Folk Arts has become part of the Regional Autonomous Institution of Culture and Art, Novgorod Regional Theater and Concert Agency .
