Biography
Gerhard Flash was born on October 8, 1909 in Posen. In 1933 he joined the NSDAP and the SS . Until 1935 he was the head of the regional cell of the NSDAP Alt-Hohenschönhausen in Berlin .
Admitted to the service in the security service (SD) . Since January 1938 - Deputy Head of the Gestapo in Frankfurt an der Oder , a year later he was appointed to the same post in Saarbrücken . For some time he served in the city of Pilsen ( Bohemia ).
Since mid-1939 - Gestapo leader in Erfurt . Later, the SS Sturmbannfuhrer , political adviser to Gauleiter of Thuringia, Fritz Sauckel .
During the Polish campaign , he commanded the 2nd Einsatzgrupp , which was part of the 6th Einsatzgruppen - the paramilitary squadron of death of Nazi Germany , which carried out mass killings of civilians in the occupied territories of European countries.
From April 23, 1940 to October 11, 1941 - commander of the Security Police and SD in Bergen . Then he was the commander of the Security Police and SD in Trondheim . January 30, 1944 was promoted to the rank of SS Obersturmbannführer . Under his command were the Falstad concentration camp near Trondheim and prisons in Trondheim. According to his personal orders, 24 Soviet prisoners, 13 Norwegian citizens participating in the Norwegian resistance movement , including 3 of Jewish origin, were hanged without trial or investigation in 1942-1945. Its immediate superior was SS Oberfuhrer Heinrich Felis .
After the surrender of Germany on May 8, 1945, he tried to escape from Trondheim with a gold bar in his luggage. He was caught and sent back under the protection of police officers, in the train during the escort he made an unsuccessful attempt to escape.
After his arrest, he was sentenced by a Norwegian court to death for committing war crimes, killings and torture [1] . Shot in Trondheim on February 28, 1948.
