Biography
There is no reliable information about the origin of Bertetruda, however, it is known that the majord of Neustria was Erhinoald , maternal cousin of King Dagobert I ; therefore, Bertetrude is the sister of St. Gerberg and, therefore, the daughter of and St. . Since had three wives ( , Bertetrud and Sikhild ), it is not clear which of them was the mother of his sons Dagobert I and Haribert II , so it is not known whether Ricomer’s daughter was Bertetruda. It is also possible that Bertetrude was the daughter of Wagon II.
According to the "Chronicle" of Fredegar , Bertetrude sincerely loved Hlothar. She is described as a queen beloved by the people. She exposed the Burgundian , who was planning to kill Hlotar and marry Bertetrude.
Bertetrude died in the 35th year of the reign of Hlotar II, in 618 or 619.
