Pomerol (Promol) ( Fr. Pomerol) is an appellation of Bordeaux red wines, located in south-west France. Located in the east of Bordeaux , near Saint-Émilion , in the area of Libourne ( fr. Libournas), which received its name from the name " Libourne " ( fr. Libourne).
Relief and soil of the appellation
An appellation is a piece of land of 800 hectares with a height difference of 20 meters. In the southern and western areas, the soil is more sandy than in other areas of the appellation. In the east, the soil is slightly heavier: it contains clay. The eastern edge of Pomerol is the highest. It borders with Saint-Emilion.
Grape Production
