Best Worst Movie

Best Worst Movie ( eng. Best Worst Movie ) is a 2009 American documentary about the creation of the infamous 1990 horror film Troll 2 and its subsequent revival in the status of the cult film [1] . Documentary was distributed by Magicstone Productions and New Video Group. It was also included in the first five thousand copies on Blu-ray simultaneously with the films " Troll " and "Troll 2", reissued on November 17, 2015 [2] .

Short storyline

This film tells about the creation of the film "Troll" and "Troll 2", about his fall and in spite of this, the acquisition of cult status.

Production

After completing and watching the movie Trolls 2, Stevenson was embarrassed by the movie; however, thanks to Myspace , he began to realize that the film had gained the cult status of fans and was often listed along with the users' favorite movies on the site [3] . According to Stevenson, the turning point came in April 2006. He stated: “One morning I woke up with a very warm feeling, and I was smiling from ear to ear. I was next to my wife and I said: “I’m the child star of the worst movie ever made ... this is the story of a hero” [3] .

Release

The film premiered at the South by Southwest festival in March 2009, and was released on DVD in November 2010.

Criticism

“Best Worst Film” received very positive reviews. He currently has a 95% endorsement from critics based on 64 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes [4] . He also received a rating of 61% based on 15 reviews on Metacritic [5] . Roger Ebert awarded the documentary a three-star out of four [6] . AV Club has assigned the film a rating of "B" [7] .
