Eduard Grund ( German: Eduard Grund ; May 31, 1802 , Hamburg - November 25, 1871 , Meiningen ) - German conductor and violinist. Brother of Friedrich Wilhelm Grund .
He studied with his father, a music teacher, made his debut as a violinist in Hamburg in 1815. He further improved his professional skills under the guidance of Andreas Romberg and Louis Spur (studying with the latter, at the same time he taught the music of his children [1] ). Since 1820 he performed as a soloist in various cities of Germany, as well as in London (1823), in France and the Netherlands. In the years 1822-1825. accompanist of the Meiningen court chapel of the Duke of Saxe-Meiningen . In 1829 he returned to Meiningen and until 1857 he held the position of bandmaster; in 1831 he was the musical director of the opening ceremony of the Miningen Theater . Author of a number of compositions for his instrument, overtures, songs.
