Biography

Anatoly Igoshin was born on November 29, 1908 into a working-class family in the city of Kurgan, Kurgan district of the Tobolsk province , now the administrative center of the Kurgan region [1] .

He began his career in 1929 as a triangulator technician [2] .

In 1937 he graduated from the Ural Mining Institute , receiving the specialty of mining engineer- mine surveyor . He worked as an assistant at this institute. He was engaged in the development of a number of issues of mining geometry and the method of geometrization of reservoir deposits. In January 1941, at the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute, he defended his thesis on "Geometrization of the occurrence forms of mineral deposits of coal by the isoline method." The supervisor of studies was the founder of mining geometry, academician P.I. Sobolevsky [3] . In 1941, he was approved in the academic rank of assistant professor.

From 1941 to 1943 he was at the party work: instructor of the Sverdlovsk regional committee of the CPSU (b) , head of the department of the Karpinsky city ​​committee of the CPSU (b).

From 1943 he continued to work at the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute, where until 1946 he headed the department of mine surveying, and then until April 1950 he worked as the deputy director of the institute for educational and scientific work

In June 1950, he was assigned to work at the Irkutsk Mining and Metallurgical Institute as Deputy Director for Academic and Scientific Work. Since January 1952 - Director, and then Rector of the Institute. In 1960, at the request of Igoshin, the Mining and Metallurgical Institute was reorganized into a Polytechnic Institute. At the same time, he headed the Department of Mine Surveying and Geodesy until 1961.

A.A. Igoshin was a member of the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences . He headed the board of the Irkutsk branch of the Society of Soviet-Mongolian friendship and was chairman of the presidium of the board of the Irkutsk branch of the All-Union Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.

Anatoly Andreyevich Igoshin died after another heavy operation in Irkutsk on October 10, 1977 .

Memory

  • The first street, built in Studgorodok ( Sverdlovsk district of Irkutsk ), formerly called "Student", on October 10, 1979 was renamed into st. Igoshina.
  • On the house number 10, in which he lived, a memorial plaque was installed.
  • Department of Mine Surveying, organized with the personal participation and initiative of A.A. Igoshina in 1951, and led by him for ten years, annually holds the Igoshin Readings.
