Mazurka (cake)

Polish Mazurka Cake

Mazurka (from Polish mazurek - “Mazovskiy”) is a traditional Polish cake originally from Mazovia , from which it got its name. In Poland , as a rule, is baked at Easter , has one or two cakes, which can be made from different dough. Differs in a small thickness - about 4 cm. Mazurek is richly decorated with Easter symbols, using for this cream, fudge, jam. Also, its ingredients traditionally include a lot of fruits, dried fruits, candied fruits, nuts.

In Russia, Ukraine, and other countries neighboring Poland, mazurka recipes look more like cake or shortbread recipes.
