Rosvita Zobelt ( German: Roswietha Zobelt ; born November 24, 1954 , Rittersgrün ), nee Reichel ( German: Reichel ), a German rower who played for the German Democratic rowing team in the 1970s. Two-time Olympic champion, four-time world champion, European champion, winner of many regattas of national and international importance.

Biography
Rosvita Zobelt was born on November 24, 1954 in the settlement of Rittersgruen , East Germany . She was trained in Potsdam at the Dynamo Sports Club.
The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 1973 season, when she entered the main team of the East German national team and attended the European Championship in Moscow, from where she brought the gold dignity, won in the standings of the doubles with steering.
In 1974, in the twin steering fours, she won the world championship in Lucerne .
At the 1975 World Championships in Nottingham she was again the best in the same discipline.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal - as a part of the team, which also included rowers Anke Borchman , Viola Polay , Jutta Lau and Liana Weigelt , won first place in the pair of fours and thus became the Olympic champion
After the Montreal Olympics, Lau remained part of the GDR rowing team and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 1977, she added to the track record a gold medal received at the World Championships in Amsterdam in the doubles program.
At the 1978 world championship in Karapiro , she started again in the doubles, but this time she could not get into the number of winners, having settled down in the final protocol only in sixth position.
In 1979, she marked a victory in the fours at the World Championships in Bled .
Being one of the leaders of the East German rowing team, it successfully passed the selection for the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow - here, together with Sibylla Reinhardt , Jutta Ploh , Jutta Lau and the helmsman Liana Boer , she again won the four doubles, thus becoming a two-time Olympic champion.
For outstanding sporting achievements she was awarded the Order of Merit to the Fatherland in bronze (1974), silver (1976) and gold (1980).
Having completed her sports career, she worked as a physiotherapist. Married to a German rower, Gunter Zobelt [1] .
