Anke Borchmann ( German: Anke Borchmann ; born June 23, 1954 , Neukalen ); nee Grünberg ( German Grünberg ) - German rower , speaking for the GDR national team in rowing in the second half of the 1970s. Champion of the Summer Olympic Games in Montreal , two-time world champion, winner of many regattas of national and international importance.

Biography
Anke Grunberg was born on June 23, 1954 in Neukalen , GDR . She was trained in Berlin and Potsdam at the local sports clubs Dynamo.
The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 1975 season, when she entered the main team of the East German national team and visited the world championship in Nottingham , from where she brought the award of gold dignity won in the standings of the pair of fours with the helmsman.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she won the right to defend the country's honor at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal - as part of the team, which also included rowers Yutta Lau , Viola Polay , Rosvita Zobelt and Liane Weigelt , took first place in the pair of steering fours and thus became the Olympic champion. For this outstanding achievement, she was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland in silver [1] .
After the Montreal Olympics, Borchman remained in the rowing team of the GDR and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 1978, she started in double twos at the world championship in Amsterdam , where she also bypassed all rivals and won the gold medal.
At the 1978 World Championships in Karapiro, she won the sixth place in the pair twos.
After completing her sports career, she worked in the administration of the National Peoples Army in Potsdam. After the unification of Germany moved to the water police. She lived in Werder Bremen [2] .
