Content
History
It is first mentioned in the scribal books of Shelonskaya Pyatina in 1498, as the village of Veletovo (at Lake Samro) in Sumersky Pogost of the Novgorod District [2] .
The village of Veletova , consisting of 35 peasant households , is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [3] .
Veletovo - the village belongs to Her Majesty, the number of inhabitants according to audit: 105 m. P., 126 g. p. [4] (1838)
The village of Veletova from 35 yards is marked on the map of Professor S. Kutorgi in 1852 [5] .
Veletova - the village of Mrs. Likhardova, along a country road, the number of yards is 41, the number of souls is 110 m. [6] (1856)

In the XIX - early XX century, the village administratively belonged to the Staropolskaya volost of the 2nd district of the 1st camp of the Gdovsky district of the St. Petersburg province.
According to the Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province of 1905, the village formed the Veletovskoye rural society [8] .
Since March 1917, the village has been part of the Veletovo village council of the Staropolskaya parish, Gdovsk district [9] .

According to the map of the Petrograd and Estland provinces of the 1919 edition, the village was called Veletova [10] .
From February 1927, as part of the Lozhgolovskoy parish of Kingisepp County .
Since August 1927, as part of the Osminsky District .
In 1928, the village had a population of 409 [9] .
According to the data of 1933, the village of Veletovo was the administrative center of the Veletovo village council of the Osminsky district, which included 5 settlements, villages: Veletovo , Dubok, Marino, Mordi, Rudnitsa, with a total population of 1,295 people [11] .
According to the data of 1936, 10 settlements, 255 households and 5 collective farms were part of the Veletovsky Village Council, the village Mordi was the administrative center of the village council [12] .
From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the German occupation.
Since 1961, as part of the Staropolsky Village Council of the Slantsy District.
Since 1963, as part of the Kingisepp District [9] .
As of August 1, 1965, the village of Veletovo was part of the Staropolsky Village Council of the Kingisepp District [13] . Since November 1965, again as part of the Slantsy district. In 1965, the population of the village was 31 [9] .
According to the 1973 data, the village of Veletovo was part of the Porechsky village council [14]
According to the 1990 data, the village of Veletovo was part of the Ovsishchensky Village Council [15] .
In 1997, 4 people lived in the village of Veletovo, Ovsishchensky volost, in 2002 - 7 people (all Russians) [16] [17] .
In 2007, 3 people lived in the village of Veletovo Staropolsky JV , in 2010 - 4 people [18] [19] .
Geography
The village is located in the eastern part of the district on the road 41K-778 (entrance to the village. Veletovo).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 10 km [18] .
The distance to the nearest train station Weimarn is 59 km [13] .
The village is located near the northern shore of Lake Samro .
