Lapiado, Gleb Aleksandrovich

Gleb Aleksandrovich Lapiado was born on August 28, 1926 into a circus family. First entered the arena in 1932, when he was only 6 years old. He was taught work with horses grandfather - the famous circus rider Vasily Trofimovich Sobolevsky.

He became a rider, performed in the rooms: "Paired Jockeys", "Solo-jockey", in horse-acrobatic revue.

Later he headed the group number "Jockeys" and prepared the number "Pas de deux" with Tamara Rokotova. Both numbers differed peculiar composition, interesting complex tricks. After the death of his grandfather headed the troupe "Jockei Sobolevsky."

From 1968 he led the group jockey number. Since 1984, he led the Don Cossacks Horse Ensemble. He was one of the leading masters of the equestrian genre.

He died on May 1, 2007, was buried at the Mitinsky cemetery in Moscow ^[1] .

• Father - circus artist Alexander Vasilyevich Lapiado (real name Korolev, 1879-1935), athlete, wrestler, trainer, circus performer. In the circus, he began as a power acrobat (performed with partner V. Milashevich), then performed with a solo athletic number, decorated in a "Roman style"; in the final he held a platform with an orchestra on his chest. Subsequently began to train horses and camels. Among the many prepared rooms is the Thousand and One Nights pantomime. Contained circuses in the province. In the years 1922-1930 led circus groups. Author of "Training horses and camels." The first wife was the famous circus rider Olga Sur, about whom A. N. Kuprin wrote the story “Olga Sur” (1929). • The mother is a circus actress, rider Rafaella Vasilyevna Sobolevskaya (Raisa Vasilyevna Filatova; 1902-1986).
• One-blooded brother - circus artist Alexander Alexandrovich Korolev-Lapiado (1910-1979), rider, trainer. At the arena since 9 years old: solo jockey on doppel-pony, triple dzhigitovka and pas de deux with sisters and Calissa L. (2.2.1909-18.1.1985).
• The only sister is circus actress Cleopatra Alexandrovna Lapiado (1907-1990).

  • The nephew is a circus artist Yuri Kirillovich Avierino (1931–2003), an illusionist, a national artist of the RSFSR .
• His wife is circus actress Tamara Grigorievna Rokotova, horsewoman, honored artist of the RSFSR.
  • Daughter - circus artist Galina Glebovna Lapiado (born 1954), rider.
