Description

Small bees (body length about 7 mm) with pubescence of light hairs (body black, tergites brown in front, translucent orange in back, dark brown scapus, osprey white). From close species they differ in the following features: the region between the eye and the ocellium is finely punctured; propodeal triangle small and microcellular; pubescence of the scutum relative to medium length; inner spur of hind tibia comb; rounded basitibial plate. Wings with 2 submarginal cells, convex clypeus (as well as the supraclipical region), antennae short and not reach middle ocellium, long jugal lobe of hind wing, i.e. extending significantly below cu-v level. Found on the flowers of Calandrinia sp. ( Montiaceae ). Nest in sandy and clay soil. Included in the subgenus Colletellus Michener, 1965 (subfamily Neopasiphaeinae). The species was first described in 2018 by the Australian entomologist Remko Leijs (South Australian Museum, Adelaide , Australia ) [1] [2] .
