Signs of the postal payment of the USSR (1939) - a list ( catalog ) of postage signs ( postage stamps ) put into circulation by the Directorate for the publication and forwarding of postage signs of the People's Commissariat of Communications of the USSR in 1939 [1] [2] [3] [4] .
From March to December 1939, 62 postage stamps were issued , including 48 commemorative ( commemorative [Comm 1] ) and 14 standard: 3 - the standard issue of Lenin (1925-1939); 2 - the third (1929-1941); 2 - the fourth (1936-1953), for which the drawing of stamps of the previous (third) issue was used; 4 - fifth (March - August 1939) and 3 - sixth (1939-1956) standard issue of the USSR [6] . The topic of commemorative stamps covered significant dates and events, was devoted to the Stalinist reconstruction of Moscow , the USSR resorts, the USSR’s participation in the World Exhibition in New York and the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition ( VSHV ) in Moscow, as well as the first non-stop flight of the female crew on the route Moscow - the Far East [2] [4] .

Standard “Lenin” (1925-1939)
In 1939, standard postage stamps with a portrait of V. I. Lenin were reissued - stamps of the 1925-1929 type with a face value of 3 were put into circulation; 5 and 10 rubles on loose and smooth paper without a watermark. In May, stamps of the sample 1925-1929 with a face value of 3 (artist D. Golyadkin ) and 5 (artist V. Korzun ) rubles were reissued, and in November a stamp with a face value of 10 rubles (artist V. The third issue of standard stamps (1929-1941)

The fourth issue of standard stamps (1936-1953)
In 1939, the issue of standard postage stamps of the fourth standard issue of the USSR was continued [26] . For marks of the fourth standard issue, drawings of brands of the previous issue were used. The fourth standard issue of stamps was officially launched in July 1936. Stamps have been reprinted repeatedly on white and grayish paper with white and yellow glue, have numerous shades of color [27] [28] .

Fifth issue of standard stamps (March - August 1939)
Stamps of the fifth standard issue were put into circulation in March-August 1939. Three face values were issued : 15, 30 and 60 kopecks. For a stamp with a face value of 30 kopecks, they used the drawing of Dmitry Golyadkin of the previous issue (worker), the remaining stamps of the original drawings were a steelworker (the drawing was created by a team of Goznak artists) and the coat of arms of the USSR (artist N. Temnorukov). A stamp with a face value of 60 kopecks was printed by intaglio printing , the rest were printed on plain paper without watermarks , with teeth [27] [28] .

Sixth issue of standard stamps (1939-1956)
In August 1939, the sixth standard issue stamps were issued, which was published until December 1956 [27] [28] . The first issue of the sixth standard issue began in August 1939 and continued until March 1940. In three miniatures in denominations of 5, 15 and 30 kopecks, artist V. Sidelnikov portrayed a miner , a Red Army soldier and a pilot [Comm 84] .
