“Twerk” is a Miami City girls hip-hop duet song from Girl Code , recorded with hip-hop singer Cardi B and released on January 8, 2019 [1] .

Music video
The video was directed by Daps and Sarah Lacombe. The video was shot in Miami and released on January 18, 2019. According to the plot of the video, Jung Miami and Cardi Bee, painted like a zebra and a tiger, dance surrounded by other girls in various locations (yacht, beach, construction site). The second participant in the City Girls duo, JT, was unable to take part in the filming, as she was in prison on charges of credit card fraud. Most of the girls in the video are finalists of an online contest announced by City Girls as early as November 9th, with the goal of finding "the best twerkers in the world." Finalists were announced in December and the top 20 girls had the opportunity to take part in the filming of the video. The woman who won the main prize of $ 25,000 is shown at the end of the video, she lights a cigarette while standing on her head [1] [2] [3] [4] .
Reviews
In Forbes noted that the song has the right balance between the and hip-hop, and so it pays tribute to the origins of the dance. According to me, this is the twerk anthem that was lacking just now, at the end of the 2010s [5] . The rest of the rave reviews concerned the footage [2] [4] .
