Kalantai Sergey Nikolaevich (August 29, 1960, Kryvyi Rih - August 10, 1980, Bagram ) - Soviet soldier, sergeant, deputy platoon commander, participant in the Afghan war.

Biography
Born on August 29, 1960 in the city of Krivoy Rog in a working class family.
He graduated from Kryvyi Rih Secondary School No. 46, in 1979 - Kryvyi Rih College of Mining Electromechanics.
On June 2, 1979 he was drafted into the Armed Forces of the USSR by the Zhovtnev District Military Commissariat of Krivoy Rog.
Since January 1980, he served in Afghanistan in the 181st motorized rifle regiment [1] . He took part in 5 raids.
On August 10, 1980, in the area of the city of Bagram, the unit was ambushed. Having led a group of 5 people, Sergeant Kalantai secretly advanced behind enemy lines and attacked him. In this battle he was mortally wounded.
He was buried in the Ternovsky district of Krivoy Rog.
