Biography
In 1954 he graduated from the Chkalovsky Medical Institute and was sent to work as a chief physician in the village of Saraktash, Orenburg Region. As a surgeon, he performed about a thousand operations, was engaged in scientific activities.
Since 1961, an assistant in the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy of the Orenburg Medical Institute. In 1965 he defended his thesis on the study of blood vessels of the human spine.
In 1974 he was invited to the KNIIKOT (Kurgan Scientific Research Institute of Bone Traumatology and Orthopedics), later the RTC "WTO" named after academician G. A. Ilizarov. From 1974 to 1999 he was a leading researcher at the Russian Scientific Center “Reconstructive Traumatology and Orthopedics” named after Academician G. A. Ilizarov. He dealt with the problem of restoring the function of the spine and spinal cord after an injury. Theoretically and experimentally substantiated the use of transosseous osteosynthesis in the treatment of injuries and diseases of the spine.
The research of A.M. Markhashov was taken as the basis for many dissertations. On the ideas of experimental work, 15 scientific topics have been completed. Together with academician Ilizarov G.A., apparatuses for fixing the human spine were developed. A monograph was published with him:

Awards: badge " Excellent Health Care of the USSR ", badge " Inventor of the USSR ", silver medal VDNH . In 1997, he was awarded the title of Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation for services in inventive activity.
