Biography
He began to engage in creativity from 10 years old. He graduated from the university in his hometown. He spent most of his life in Cali , where he organized various cultural movements, such as the literary group Los Dialogantes, the Kali Film Club, and the magazine Ojo con el Cine.
In the late 60s, his first dramatic works became known.
In 1970, for his work, Los dientes de caperucita was awarded the First Literary Prize of Caracas . In 1972, his novel "Weather in the Swamp" was awarded at the Universidad Externado de Colombia competition in Bogota .
In 1973, Caichedo traveled to Los Angeles and New York in the hope of meeting the legendary filmmaker Roger Corman to offer him four of his scripts. Having failed, he began to study cinema , blues and rock , especially the Rolling Stones , and set about writing the story - ¡Que viva la música! , the work that made Caichedo's name world famous. He also began work on "Memoirs of a movie buff."
March 4, 1977 committed suicide by taking a large dose of sleeping pills.
Despite premature death, the works of A. Caicedo are considered one of the most original works in Colombia [3] .
