The Council of Hindu Communities of Russia (SIOR) is a public organization representing the interests of followers of Hinduism living in Russia in different directions (both the Indian diaspora and indigenous Russians) and promoting the harmonious integration of the Hindu community into Russian society. The Council was created on December 19, 2011 in Moscow during the time when the notorious trial of the Bhagavad-gita as it is was held in Tomsk . The association is headed by President Sanjit Kumar Jha , the spiritual name is Sadhupria Das (a), who is also the president of the Association of Indians in Russia (A&R) [1] [2] .
According to the SIOR website, communities that recognize the Vedas as scripture are considered Hindu [3] .
