Aue-Bad Schlema ( German: Aue-Bad Schlema ) is a city of regional subordination in the German federal state of Saxony . It arose on January 1, 2019 by voluntary unification of the previously independent cities of Aue and the Bad Schlem community [1] , thereby becoming the largest city in the Ore Mountains region in terms of population (region of Germany) . Submits to the administrative district of Chemnitz . The population is 20,789 people (as of December 31, 2017). It covers an area of 36.43 km².

In May 2019, the first communal elections will be held, at which the head of the city will also be determined. Until then, the Aue-Bad Slam has an interim administration led by Heide-Marie Bamler ( Left ). [2]
