Luis Ibarra ( born Luis Ibarra Castillo ; born February 23, 1953 ) is a Panamanian professional boxer who performed in the lightest weight category. WBA World Champion (1979 - 1980 and 1981).

Career
Luis Ibarra made his debut in the professional ring on July 20, 1975, defeating Antonio Walker (0-5) on points. On June 30, 1978, in his 16th professional duel, he suffered his first defeat, losing on points to the Colombian Prudencio Cardone (20-3), but in his next duel on February 17, 1979 he defeated him by unanimous decision.
On November 17, 1979, he defeated the Colombian Betulio Gonzalez (65-7-3) by unanimous decision and won the WBA flyweight world champion title . On February 17, 1980, he lost by knockout to South Korean boxer Kim Tae Sik (12-1) and lost his league title. June 6, 1981 defeated the Argentinean Santos Lasiar (40-5-7) and re-won the WBA flyweight world champion title. However, in the next match, he lost the champion title to the Mexican Juan Herrera (27-2-1).
After losing to Herrera, Ibarra had 4 more fights: two won on points, one lost on points and one lost by technical knockout.
