Description
The village of Ignasy is located 23 kilometers south-west of the volost center - the village of Varska - and 19 kilometers east of the county center - the city of Võru . Height above sea level - 102 meters [5] .
History
In written sources of 1652 Ignashevo is mentioned, 1681 - Inasen Bÿ , 1686 - Ignasheva, ~ 1866 - Ignashov, 1882 - Ignashovo, ~ 1900 - Ignatov, 1904 - Ignasimäe , Ignasõ mäe , Ignasho, ~ 1920 - Ignase , 1922 - Ignasemäe , 1924 - Ignatsimäe .
In the 18th century, the village was part of the Taeluwa community , and in the 19th century it was also part of the Obinitsa parish .
In 1977 - 1997 Ignasa was part of the village of Härma .
The origin of the toponym
The name of the village comes from the personal name Ignas ( Ignas ), which is an abbreviation of the Latin Ignatius ( Ignatius ). Ignashevo, Ignashevo is a common toponym in Pechory . [6]
