Geography
The village is located in the northwestern part of the region, on the banks of the Lebyazhya river, at a distance of about 19 kilometers (in a straight line) north of the district center of the city of Yurga . The absolute height is 100 meters above sea level [2] .

The village of Yelgino, like the whole Kemerovo region, is located in the time zone MSC + 4 ( Krasnoyarsk time ). The offset of the applied time relative to UTC is +7: 00 [3] . |
History
It was founded in 1625 [4] . In the 1868 List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire, the settlement is mentioned as the factory village of Yelgina of the Tomsk District (2nd section) at the Lebyazhya River, located 63 versts from the district center of Tomsk . There were 13 yards in the village and 83 people lived (40 men and 43 women) [5] . In 1911, in the village that was part of the Tutala volost of the Tomsk district , there were 37 yards and 263 people lived (139 men and 124 women) [6] .
According to the data of 1926, there were 94 households and 498 people lived (mainly Russians). Administratively, the village was the center of the Yelginsky Village Council of the Yurginsky District of the Tomsk District of the Siberian Territory [4] .

According to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census, men accounted for 46.9% of the gender structure of the population and 53.1% of women, respectively.
