Biography

The early years

Victor Berezinsky was born on June 29, 1956 in the Siberian city of Omsk , in the family of engineer Ivan Ivanovich Berezinsky and medical assistant Sarah Lazarevna Katz. Victor was very curious and restless, at the age of three he learned to read, and at four he already sang and could accurately pick up the melody with one finger on the piano. He was not accepted to the music school, because for a long time he could not sit in one place, although he had absolute pitch, and he went to a class with a mathematical bias. Participating in the olympiads for his native school, he attends a parallel mass of circles. At fourteen, he picked up fragments of a guitar on the street, glued them together, pulled a fishing line instead of strings and composed the first song. A year later, he had his first ensemble. A year later, he first appeared on Omsk television, already as a soloist. In 1972, the song “Let the guitar play” [5] was written in the construction team, a little later “Affectionate That Evening” [6] and “Silver in Winter”. After school, he entered the Omsk Polytechnic Institute , which at that time, we can say with confidence, replaced the Institute of Culture in Omsk, as some of its graduates became musicians and stage masters. There, he organically joins the student VIA Altair [7] , as part of which he becomes a laureate of the All-Union television contest "Young Voices", participates in the television program "The Shire Circle", in the All-Russian Soviet Song Contest in Sochi, performs with concerts and even leaves to the Festival of Soviet-Hungarian Youth in Budapest. While studying at Omsk Polytechnic Institute, such songs as “Poplars” appear, for which Victor receives a prize as the best song of the FEVIA-74 festival, “Here is the first thunder”, the composition “Mother’s Crying” to the verses of Robert Rozhdestvensky from his Requiem, music and songs for His first performance for the student theater based on the play by V. Tendryakov “Night after graduation” (director Anatoly Bolotov).

Career start

After the institute, Viktor Berezinsky and several musicians from Altair receive an invitation to work at the Rosconcert in VIA "Nadezhda", which is led by Mikhail Plotkin and through which many famous musicians passed - Igor Ivanov, Anatoly Meshaev, Vladimir Kuzmin, Oleg Chesnokov, Victor Gorbunov. Having tasted all the charms of touring life, Victor returns to Omsk and in three years he finishes the conducting and choral department of the Shebalin Music College, where Ilya Kheifets teaches composition at that time. He obviously lacks a secondary musical education and Viktor Berezinsky successfully passes exams at the Musorgsky Ural State Conservatory, where he is immediately enrolled in his second year! In his free time, he leads the orchestra of the restaurant of the Omsk hotel, during this period the songs “Under the sound of wheels”, “Autumn day” are born, works as a regent in the church, collects restaurant musicians in the House of the Actor and organizes the brilliant chamber choir of Omsk from them with the original program. In one year, this choir becomes popular, performs with concerts, records on radio and TV, and in 1986 participates in the opening of the Omsk branch of the Union of Composers. At this time, Victor writes a lot of choral and instrumental music, songs for children. In 1984, on the All-Union Radio, his new smash hit "Campfire" to the verses of Galina Gorshkova appeared. At the same time, the youth program "Variants" was launched on television, which was created by a former "polytechnic" - a young talented director Vladimir Pogodaev, later the main director of Omsk TV. He offers Victor creative collaboration. So there are about 20 new songs for TV shows: “Strange verses”, “Where the old year goes” with the poet Sergey Denisenko, “Fair of Miracles” to verses by V. Pogodaev, “Merry round dance”, “Farewell” to verses by Elena Aroseva, one of famous “three sisters”. In the same year, guitarist Alexander Vinitsky, then the head of the musical part of the Omsk Drama, left Omsk to work with Elena Kamburova. The theater is looking for a replacement and this post is offered to Viktor Berezinsky. His first work in the theater was the play "My Poor Balsaminov" directed by director Gennady Trostyanetsky. The vivid, colorful performance in 3 acts involved various musical compositions - from the simple theme of a barrel organ to ensembles of folk instruments and a brass band. Work in the theater required great returns and strength. Victor leaves his Omsk chamber choir and the Omsk restaurant.

Theater

Over the years of work in the Omsk drama, the composer's style and musical language was formed, the techniques and technique of writing music for performances of various genres and compositions were perfected. From jazz intonations in the performances “Love” by M. Shizgal (director L. Stukalov), jazz rock in the play “Man for All Times” R. Bolt (director N. Chindyaykin), piercing violin and piano in “Days of the Turbins” M. Bulgakova (director A. Shelygin), mysterious and incendiary music in the children's play “The Ring and the Rose” based on the play by U. Tekkerey (directed by G. Tskhvirava). From music filled with sarcasm and humor to the play “Do not play with the archangels” Dario Fo (director N. Chindyaykin) or a lonely saxophone talking to himself in “Influx” by Yu. Knyazev (director V. Kokorin), cut through the noise of night train cars and railway tracks.
