Description
Small bees (body length about 5 mm) with pubescence of light hairs (body black, tergites brown-orange in front, translucent or white behind). They are distinguished from similar species by the following features: short white pubescence on the chest and head, the abdomen integument is red-orange, the metapostostum is smooth and shiny, the brown scapa, the mandibles are orange-brown, the internal hind spur of the hind foot is comb-shaped, the basitibial plate is pointed, short (about one fifth on shin length). The wings have 2 submarginal cells, the clypeus is convex (as well as the supraclipal region), the antennal scape is short and does not reach the middle ocellia, the long yugal lobe of the hind wing, that is, extending well below the cu-v level. Included in the subgenus Colletellus Michener, 1965 (subfamily Neopasiphaeinae). The species was first described in 2018 by the Australian entomologist Remko Leijs (South Australian Museum, Adelaide , Australia ) [1] [2] .
