Great Lithuanian Kravchiy ( Latin: incisor dapum , structor mensae) - a position in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania since the middle of the 15th century
After preparing the table, the steward had to cut served dishes. Later its functions became nominal.
The position has been known since the 15th century ; in the hierarchy of posts it occupied a high place (usually young representatives of the magnate clans were appointed Kravchians).
Since the 17th century, the post of Kravchev ON - digital . In the districts there were posts of Kravch Zemsky, also digitalist.
