Members
109 racers came to the start of the race in Milan , from which 66 reached the finish line of the race. Racers could participate in the grand tour as part of a team or individually. Ten professional cycling teams took part in the race: Atala-Hutchinson , Bianchi-Pirelli , France Sport-Pirelli , Ganna-Dunlop , Gloria-Hutchinson , Ilva-Pirelli, Legnano-Hutchinson , Maino-Clément , Olympia-Superga and Wolsit-Hutchinson .
Peloton consisted mainly of Italians. Four former Giro champions took part in the race, including four-time winner Corsa Rose Alfredo Bindu and two-time champion Costante Girardengo . Other famous Italian riders who started the race were Learco Guerra , Giovanni Gerbi and Domenico Piedmontesi . The winner and vice-champion of the Tour de France 1931 came from eminent foreigners to the race: Frenchman Antonin Manier and Belgian Joseph Demuiser . [one]

Race Course
As in the previous year, Learco Guerra won the first stage, taking the lead. At the second stage, the German racer Herman Bouzet went off the gap and came to the finish line, ahead of the main group by more than 11 minutes. Bouuse kept the pink shirt for five stages, during which the peloton acted at a calm pace.
At the seventh stage of the “ Lanciano-Foggia ”, Bouze began to have problems with his intestines, which was taken by Antonio Pesenti , a follower of Alfredo Binda, who kept a low profile this year. Pezenti won the stage and led the overall standings. The next six stages, he easily held the leader's jersey. In Milan, he finished with 11 minutes of an advantage over his closest pursuer, the Belgian Joseph Demuiser . [2]
Classification Leaders
At the Giro d'Italia 1932, three individual classifications and two team classifications were played. The leader of the general classification, which was calculated by the sum of the time of each rider shown in the stages, was marked with a pink T-shirt . The driver with the lowest total time became the winner of the general classification and the entire race.
As well as the general one, the classifications of the best foreign driver and the best driver who participated in the race individually (not in the team) were calculated. Separate T-shirts leaders of these offsets were not noted.
In the team classification, the positions of participating teams were determined by the total time shown by the three best racers of each team at each stage. The team with the lowest total time after the last stage became the winner of the classification. If a team finished at the stage with less than three riders, it was excluded from the classification draw.
Among the Italian riders participating in the race individually, an additional team classification was played - ll Trofeo Magno ( Russian Big Trophy ). Racers were divided into teams depending on the region of Italy that they represented. The position in the standings was determined by the same principle as among ordinary teams. [3] [4]
