Biography

In the 1960s for training several European champions in rifle sports, he was awarded the title of Honored Trainer of the RSFSR . Then he began a fruitful work in the Soviet biathlon - he put the rifle training for the Dynamo athletes to biathletes - there, among his first students was the future champion of the USSR (and later the honored trainer of Russia ) Alexander Selifonov . Then he worked with the national team of trade unions, and in the 1980s. Successfully worked in the youth team of the Soviet Union. With his direct participation, Algis Shalna , Valery Medvedtsev , Alexander Popov and Sergey Chepikov scored their first big victories in the international arena.

He made a significant contribution to the creation of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), and his daughter Olga Podzolkova became the general secretary of the RBU.

In recent years, he worked at the Tushino Biathlon School.
