Biography
Adelaide was the second daughter of George Wilhelm of Schaumburg-Lipp and Princess Ida Waldeck of Pyrmont .
On October 16, 1841, in Bukkeburg, Adelaide married Friedrich Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburgsky . They had a daughter:
- Augustus (1844-1932) - the wife of Prince William of Hesse-Philippe-Barhfeldsky , his only son;
In 1848, the couple divorced.
In 1854, Adelaide again married her ex-husband. [4] The marriage ceremony was held on May 7, 1854 in Turin . After that, four more children were born to the spouses:
- Friedrich Ferdinand (1855-1934) - Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburgsky, was married to Carolina Matilda Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburgsky , had six children;
- Louise (1858-1936) - the wife of Prince Waldeck-Pyrmont George Victor, had with him an only son;
- Maria (1855-1941) - abbess in Itzehoe;
- Albrecht (1863-1948) - was twice married, had five children from both marriages.
