The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2019. Its release on Netflix took place on February 1, 2019.
Story
The owner of the art gallery, Rodor Hayes, with the assistance of art expert Morph Vandevolt, begins selling paintings found in the apartment of a dead unknown artist. Soon, however, the supernatural power of paintings begins to take revenge on those whose greed has stood in the way of art.

Production
In June 2017, it was announced that Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo would star in Dan Gilroy's nameless film, which will be distributed by Netflix [1] [2] . In January 2018, it was announced that the film was called “Velvet Chainsaw” [3] . In March 2018, Zavi Ashton , Natalia Dyer , David Diggs , Tony Collett , John Malkovich and Billy Magnussen joined the cast of actors [4] [5] .
Release
The world premiere of the film took place at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2019 [6] . Netflix premiered on February 1, 2019 with limited rental in the U.S.
