Karl Andre ( German: Karl Erich Andrée ; March 10, 1880 , Bad Münder am Deister - August 18, 1959 , Göttingen ) - German geologist , paleontologist , teacher , professor, doctor of science (since 1904) , Rector of the University of Königsberg (1930–1931).

Biography
First he studied chemistry at the Hanover Royal Technical Higher School (1898–1899), then in mineralogy, geology, paleontology and zoology at the University of Göttingen . In 1904, under the leadership of Adolf von Könen, he received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
In 1906-1908 he was an assistant at the Mineralogical and Geological Institute at the Clausthal University of Technology , where he lectured.
In the years 1908-1910 - Associate Professor at the Karlsruhe University of Technology . In 1910 he received a bachelor's degree from the University of Marburg .
In 1915 - Associate Professor of the Department of Geology and Paleontology, University of Königsberg .
Since 1921 - Professor, in 1930/31 he was the rector of the university. In Konigsberg, he was also the director of the Geological and Paleontological Institute, responsible for the collection of amber .
In 1945, he fled from East Prussia.
Since 1946, he has lectured in geology at the University of Gottingen .
Author of more than 125 scientific papers.
