Talbot Law

Talbot's law is a physical law, according to which, with a sufficient frequency of interruptions of the light flux, a decrease in the average time value of the flux for the human eye is equivalent to a decrease in its value [1] .

On the basis of Talbot's law, light flux attenuators work in the form of a rotating disk with a sectorial cut. At a sufficiently high speed of rotation of the disk, reducing the width of the sector for the eye is equivalent to attenuation of the light flux. Such attenuators are used in direct observation photometers .
