Sulikovsky, Jerzy

Jerzy Sulikowski ( Polish Jerzy Sulikowski ; born March 13, 1938 , Wojkowice ) is a Polish pianist and piano teacher.

The son of pianist Wanda Sulikovskaya (nee Ler, 1908-1980), a student of Jozef Turchinsky . He graduated from the Higher School of Music in Sopot , a student of Zbignev Slivinsky . Then he continued his performing education in Paris under the leadership of Susanne Roche (1912-1986) and Vlado Perlmuter . In 1967 he received the first prize at the International Competition of Performers in Geneva . He recorded an album with the works of Maurice Ravel and Bela Bartok .

In the future, however, he devoted himself primarily to a pedagogical career. Since 1967, he taught at the Gdansk Academy of Music , since 1983, professor. At the same time since 1980 he taught at the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music , since 1984 he was the head of the piano department, from 1987-1990. Dean of the instrumental department. In 1991-1996. Professor at the Musashino Academy of Music (Japan). Among his students, in particular, Waldemar Malitsky and Eva Poblotska . He was one of the initiators of the institution in Bydgoszcz of the International Paderevsky Piano Competition.
