Maramzin, Vladimir Rafailovich

Father is a factory master (died in the war), mother is a geography teacher. In childhood, he lived with his grandmother in Kashin , in 1946 he returned to Leningrad.

He graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute ( 1957 ), until 1965 he worked as an engineer, head of the department of scientific and technical information at the Svetlana plant.

Prose began to write in 1958 , published in 1962 . He visited the literary studio at the library to them. Mayakovsky . The play “Tell me someone - I will thank you” was staged in Leningrad in 1963 , but was removed from the repertoire immediately after the premiere. He wrote several television and film scripts. He published in the publishing house "Children's Literature" two informative books for children "Here we work" ( 1966 , the second edition - 1973 ) and "Who delivers the townspeople" ( 1969 , on urban public transport - tram, trolleybus, bus, taxi, metro). Maramzin was not a member of the USSR SP , but from February 1966 to March 1975 he was in the trade union committee of writers at the Leningrad branch of the RSFSR joint venture.

He was a member of the literary group "Citizens" (besides him, it was composed by Boris Vakhtin , Vladimir Gubin , Igor Efimov ), participated in the eponymous typewritten collection. Distributed in the lists the works of A. Platonov , other banned authors.

Arrest

In 1971 - 1974, together with the historian, writer Mikhail Kheifets and literary critic, translator Efim Etkind, he compiled a typewritten collection of Joseph Brodsky 's works in 5 volumes for samizdat . This was the reason for his arrest on July 24, 1974 . Admitted his “guilt”.

The court, which was held in Leningrad on February 19-21, 1975 and covered by the Samizdat Chronicle of Current Events , sentenced Maramzin to 5 years of probation. The writer was allowed to travel to the West.

Emigration

Since 1975 in exile in France . Collaborated with V. Maximov ’s Continent magazine. Published the camp diaries of M. Heifetz ( 1977 ). In 1978 - 1986, together with A. Khvostenko published the literary magazine Echo in Paris (14 issues were published), printed A. Platonov's novel Juvenile Sea, a bibliography of his works in the magazine. He published several novels and short stories that masterfully reproduced the surrealist atmosphere, the dislocated thought and speech of ordinary inhabitants of the USSR. In prose, considers himself a follower of Andrei Platonov. After 1981, he was not published for many years, he was engaged in technical translations.

After 1999, new texts of Maramzin began to appear in Russia (Zvezda magazine, St. Petersburg), foreign Russian-language publications ( Literary European , Mosty , Frankfurt, New Beach, Copenhagen). In 2003, a new book of his prose was published in Paris, and in 2007 a collection of articles. The Paris publishing house Echo is preparing to release the novel Slavoterpets (the first part of the three-part novel Country Emigration ).

The stories and tales of Maramzin are distinguished by their stylistic diversity. He has a purely realistic, and satirical-fantastic, and surrealistic, linguisticly experimental prose, in which the influence of A. Platonov is always reflected. ^[one]

Maramzin clearly recognizes himself as a political emigrant belonging to the literature of exile , is not going to be published in Russia, contrasts his position with Russian writers and authors who live abroad, but are actively published in Russia, and are not going to return (see: [1] ).
