The 2008 Russian Curling Championship among mixed teams of 2008 ( the Russian Curling Championship in mixed 2008 ) was held from May 9 to 11, 2008 in the city of Moscow at the Moskvich Ice Palace arena [3] . Was the tournament held in ? th time.

24 teams took part in the tournament: from Moscow (8 teams), St. Petersburg (6 teams), Moscow Region ( Dmitrov ) (2 teams), Leningrad Region (2 teams), Ufa (1 team), Zelenograd (1 team) , Yekaterinburg (1 team), Novosibirsk (1 team), Chelyabinsk (1 team), Kaliningrad region (1 team).
The winner of the championship received the right to act as the Russian team at the European Championship 2008 , which took place in September 2008 in the city of Kitzbuhel ( Austria ).
The champions of Russia were the EShVSM Moskvich-1 team ( skip Alexander Kirikov ), who won the Moscow Team team (skip Artyom Balduzev) in the final. The third place went to the losers in the semifinals of the Moskvich-2 team (skip Margarita Fomina ) and Moskvich-1 team ( Andrei Drozdov ) [2] .
Content
Competition Format
Competition system:
- Competitions are held in a circular system in six groups in one circle. Teams that took 1st place in the groups according to the results of the round-robin tournament get the right to enter the second stage of the competition, playoffs . Two additional places are staffed with the best teams from the runners-up in the groups. According to the Olympic system, quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals and matches for 3rd, 5th and 7th places are played.
The order of scoring. Ranking teams in subgroups:
- For a victory in a match, a team is awarded 2 points; for defeat or failure to appear - 0 points.
- In case of equality of points between the two teams, their ranking is carried out according to the result of a personal meeting between them. In case of equality of points for three or more teams, their ranking is carried out according to the sum of points scored in matches between these teams. The ratio of stones and end is not taken into account. In case of equality of this indicator, teams throw test throws. Each team performs 4 shots. The order of the throwing is determined by the referee board of the competition. Based on the results of these results, a couple is determined who, in an additional meeting, is fighting for the right to participate in the next stage of the competition.
