Arkhipov, Alexey Andreevich

Born March 16, 1955 in a family of famous sculptors, Andrei Alekseevich and Yulia Nikolaevna Arkhipovs ^[1] . He graduated from the Higher School of Arts. V. I. Mukhina (Academy of Baron Stieglitz). Since 1984 he became a member of the Union of Artists ^[2] .

Alexey Arkhipov works in different directions: creates city monuments and sculptural ensembles; landscape gardening sculpture, busts of prominent people, plaques; works of arts and crafts (clocks, chess, cutlery and other items and decorations); produces medals, signs and orders of large and small circulation (including government); creates jewelry from gold, silver; engaged in easel painting, graphics, design and painting of interiors, building facades, stained glass.

His works are in collections of the State Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the Historical Museum of Moscow, private collections in Russia, England, Germany, the USA, France, Belgium. One of the sculptor's most famous works is a large-scale five-meter sculpture of the Zinger eagle on the facade of the Book House on Nevsky Prospekt, lost in the 30s. 20th century, which he recreated in 2004 ^[3] .

No less remarkable is the almost three-meter sculpture of the Slavic enlighteners Cyril and Methodius, installed in Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2013. As conceived by the sculptor, Cyril and Methodius were captured not as standing as on the icons, but as moving, bearing enlightenment.

• Honored Artist of the Russian Federation ( July 17, 2019 ) - for his great contribution to the development of domestic culture and art, many years of fruitful activity ^[4] .
• The second prize "Revival of the medal" ( Paris ) in 1986.
• Honorary diploma at OZINTARI ( Riga ) in 1988.
• Prize GENRI DROPSI (Paris) - mastery of the art of medal, in 1991.
• He was awarded the medal "In Honor of the Establishment of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called" (1698-1998) in 1999.

• 1991 - a monument to the Holy Founders of the city of Cherepovets "Athanasius and Theodosius" (bronze, granite). The monument has become a symbol of the city. ^[five]
• 1998 - a bust monument to D.N. Mamleev, Cherepovets, on the square in front of the Stroitel recreation center (bronze, granite).
• 2000 - a monument to Victor Sloka, St. Petersburg, Southern Cemetery (black granite, white marble).
• 2001 - a bust monument to S. I. Vavilov, the city of Sosnovy Bor (bronze, granite).
• 2003 - busts of composers at a music school in Surgut: Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Glinka (gypsum).
• 2004 - a bust-monument to the scientist, physicist D. V. Skobeltsin, Moscow, Scientific Research Institute of Nuclear Physics named after D.V. Skobeltsyna (bronze).
• 2004 - recreation of the eagle at the Book House (Singer House), St. Petersburg (copper drift, electroplating).
• 2005 - a bust of A.S. Pushkin in the library of Surgut (bronze).
• 2007 - a memorial plaque to S. D. Dovlatov, St. Petersburg, is installed on the writer's house (granite).
• 2009 - a monument to V.N.Shershnev, director of the Baltic Plant, St. Petersburg, is installed at the Smolensk cemetery (granite, marble).
• 2009 - a monument to I. Khlebnikova, St. Petersburg, installed at the Smolensk cemetery (granite, marble).
• 2009 - a monument to the philosopher K. A. Sergeev, St. Petersburg, installed at the Smolensk cemetery (bronze, granite).
• 2010 - recreation of the eagle on the DLT, St. Petersburg (ceramics, gilding).
• 2011 - a series of medallions “Scientists of St. Petersburg. History of Science ”, installed in the building of the Academy of Sciences of St. Petersburg. Universitetskaya emb. 5. (gypsum).
• 2012 - a bust-monument to Emperor Alexander II, Leningrad Region, the village of Putilovo (bronze, granite).
• 2013 - a monument to I. L. Oleinikov, Pushkin, is installed at the Kazan cemetery (bronze, granite).
• 2013 - a monument to Cyril and Methodius, Greece, the city of Thessaloniki (bronze, colored marble).
• 2013 - busts of admirals, heroes of the Sinop battle: Makarov, Kornilov, Panfilov and Novosilsky, St. Petersburg, Sinop embankment (bronze) were installed.
• 2013 - a worship cross of St. Evdokia of Moscow (executed under the direction of the national artist A. S. Charkin), Moscow (granite).

• 2017 - a bust monument twice to the hero of Russia cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev, St. Petersburg, Victory Park (bronze, granite).
